Joker poker is played with 52 cards + Joker. Joker can replace any of your cards, according to your needs at the given moment. You can find the particular game in most of online casinos today. It is a kind of video poker, and the rules for playing it are basically the same, with some variations, but you should still be aware of these variations and read the rules in order to play successfully.
The payouts may differ from online casino to online casino, they are still somewhere around 99% in average. If you are new in video poker games, Joker Poker in particular, you should consider preparing yourself before playing and try to learn a little something about the game. For example, you should know that online casino payouts usually start with ‘kings or better’, or a pair of kings.
There are some basic rules for playing Joker Poker successfully. Two slightly different strategies are presented here:
The 1st case: If you don’t have a Joker among your cards:
- If you got four of a kind, you should discard the fifth card. There is a possibility of getting the Joker. If not, you still have a poker in your hand.
- If you have four cards in a row, either for royal or straight flush, or to a flush or a straight, you should discard the fifth card, hoping to get either the fifth card to complete your hand, or a Joker to replace it.
- The same rule applies if you have three cards in a row, either for royal flush, straight flush, flush or a straight, the only difference is that now you have to discard the
remaining two cards.
- In case that you have three cards of the same kind, for example, kings, you have to discard the remaining two cards, hoping to get the fourth card of the same kind, or maybe a Joker, for completing the poker. There is also a possibility of getting additional two cards that are the same, like, for example, two queens, or a combination of a queen and a Joker, in which case you would have a full house.
- With two pairs, for example two kings and two queens, you should discard the remaining card – if you are lucky enough, it can be replaced with either one king, or a queen or a Joker – in any of these cases you would have a full house in your hand.
- In case you got two of a kind, or two to royal or straight flush, you should discard the rest of your cards. If your cards are all different, and you cannot decide what to do with them, discard them all.
The second case: if you got the Joker:
- Considering the fact that your Joker replaces any card, if you can arrange your cards in a row of four, using the joker for replacing any card, with one card missing for royal flush, straight flush, flush or straight, discard the remaining card hoping to fulfill the row.
- If you have three of a kind, including joker, for example, two kings and a Joker, or three cards in a row for getting the straight flush, you should discard the remaining two cards.
- If you cannot arrange your cards in any way, in spite of the fact you have a Joker, keep the Joker and discard the rest of your cards.
Well, with or without a Joker, you may be lucky enough to get all five cards in a row in your first hand. With royal flush or royal straight, flush or a straight in your hand, you know you shouldn’t discard anything.
